I wrote this in 2002, inspired by someone else’s story. It is really my own, suffering the abandonment and rejection of my own earthly father. The unworthiness, the not good enoughs, we tell ourselves over and over again. Believing we did something wrong. We carry it with us all our lives wearing it around our necks like a yoke. Until we begin to Believe the Beautiful of who God says we are in His eyes. The Words of a Heavenly Father who would never abandon us. Who would never leave us. Who would never forsake us. Healing begins in the heart. Healing begins with a faithful and forever Father’s love. Believe.
A Faithful and Forever Father’s Love

*****
Abandoned by her father when she was two years old.
“He won’t be comin’ back!” is what that little girl was told.
“My daddy doesn’t love me,” is the lie that she believed.
How could this child have known that she was not what made him leave?
*****
She believed she must be unlovable.
Her birthdays came and went without a word at all.
*****
All she ever wanted was a father’s love.
A love that would erase
her pain and her disgrace.
A love to keep her safe
like a strong and warm embrace.
A faithful and forever father’s love.
*****
This little girl was not so little any more.
She looked a lot of places to find what she yearning for.
The kind of love she found was not real love at all.
When she told him of the baby it was the last of him she saw.
*****
She believed she must be unlovable.
Their birthdays came and went without a word at all.
*****
As she cried she fell onto her knees,
calling to the God of Heaven,
“If you’re there God, help me please!”
And over her there came a sense of peace.
Her heart was overwhelmed
with a love she’d never felt…
*****
It was all she ever wanted, it was a Father’s love.
A love that would erase
her pain and her disgrace.
A love to keep her safe
like a strong and warm embrace,
A faithful and forever Father’s love.
MY faithful and forever Father’s LOVE!

I love you Abba, Father
