A Father’s Day Melancholy. When fathers are missing, we are missing our fathers.

A father. There is a place in our heart they hold like no other. They are our Birthright. They are our Heritage. Bringing Life from another. Held within them is a Hope for our Future, to be like them, loved by them. And when they leave, we grieve. When they are gone, we’re left to carry on, without them. Leaving deep empty places, of grieving empty spaces, in our heart.

Twenty years now, since the passing of mine, but Golden are years, with the passage of time. I remember his smile, the sound of his laugh, the strength of his arms, and the love of his lap. My memories with him, are shadowed and dim. Be now time, marked by years, the Day brings forth tears, they burst into Beautiful blooms, of melancholy rooms, in my heart.

Generations passed, lost long ago, still leave children longing for the fathers they know. Held in their hearts of dreams they can’t see, held by the hopes of who they might be. Abandoned by Love. They search for the one, a place where a father believes in, and rescues a son. Searching for Love and finding none there, they Abandon their children without even a care.

The Love of a father girds up our Heart. Gives us direction when we’re lost in the dark. Builds and provides a foundation of strength, which cannot be shaken, lost, or replaced. The Love of a father holds out his hand, when we struggle to walk, so that we might stand. Yet many have caused the Foundations to fail, shattering lives with Rejection, the crushing of nails.

The Father of Love whispers to me, your father is missing, but worshipping me. My Love came to fill your valleys of grief, to Breathe LIFE into Brokenness, to bring you relief. The words of rejection are not who you are. You are valued, creative and built for a part. You’ve struggled, My Child, with where you fit in? Searching a place to belong and begin. You were not meant to FIT IN, but were BORN to STAND OUT! You FIT perfectly, Beautifully, right in my Heart!
