Psalm 30: My Testimony Today
January 30, 2020
Psalm 30
“I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast HEALED me.
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
Lord, by thy favor thou hast made my mountain to stand strong; thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.
I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made my supplication.
What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper.
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent,
O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

God’s always gives His perfect word at the perfect time! This was David’s song of Praise of God’s deliverance and was a Psalm, and song at the dedication of the house of David. Now this beautiful Psalm is a song of my Praise as a testimony of God’s deliverance in my life again, after suffering over a year with a debilitating battle of a Traumatic Brain Injury due to multiple concussions and a Huntington’s Disease Diagnosis! This is my Psalm Lord, this is my song!
Our cries out to God, in the midst of suffering, are not always sung with a joyous melody. Sometimes it’s difficult to even make a “joyful noise” in the midst of a journey of suffering. Often, they are dirges of distress from the depths of despair. And yet, our prayers are heard by our Heavenly Father, as always lovely when they reach His ears. Especially when they are laced with tears. Every prayer lifted in longing or lifted in love, is as a song, unto the Lord. He listens. He hears us. And He responds in love because that is who He is.
The heart of God is love. He can be nothing less. 5 1/2 years ago, my journey began in Psalm 16. My testimony is now, Psalm 30. My heart and life is a Psalm to be sung.
The Psalms. They are a gift of song in the midst of sorrow. They are the voice of Praise in Victory! Won’t you search them for yourself and join me in my singing.
Sincerely,
Susan
