Recovering Ability – Recovering LIFE

Jeremiah 30:3-4
“The LORD appeared to them saying:
I have loved you with an everlasting love;
I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
I will build you up again
and you will be rebuilt,
O Virgin Israel.
Again you will take up your tambourines
and go out to dance with the joyful.”

I can’t even begin to understand your works and your purposes, O Mighty God and King! LORD, I praise you and I thank you for my NEW life, for your LIFE manifest in me! “CHRIST IN ME my HOPE of GLORY!” You have SAVED my life as you have PROMISED! You have drawn me with loving-kindness. You will build me up again and I will be rebuilt! Again I will take up my tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful!
After wrestling this enemy of dis-ability day after day, I am freed indeed! My life changed in one MIRACULOUS MOMENT of your faithfulness, mercy, and everlasting love! I am rescued, restored, redeemed, remade, renewed, revived, and relieved!
I am healed! I am well! Praise the LORD! I am dancing in my heart, yet I cannot dance. My life is still stuck in that place, in the un-raveling that comes with the de-struction and dis-order of a diagnosis, dis-ease, or dis-ability. The life that was, all that was, all that was lost or wasn’t meant to be, how is it recovered? How do I Recover Life?
I am overwhelmed and overburdened with Recovering Ability. I have been un-able for so long that I no longer know how to BE Able. There are piles and messes of life undone, piles and messes of closets undone, piles and messes of relationships undone, piles and messes of living undone.
There are piles and messes of lost directions; this ways and that ways, desires and plans, all turned upside down and inside out. All that was, before the trauma, was left and lost, lost in the longings of pages past. Now a new and unknown direction.
Life after Disease. Life after Disorder. Life after Disability. Life after a Traumatic Brain Injury and a Huntington Disease Diagnosis. Life After is LIFE! I feel like the leper who was healed and asked to GO with Jesus, but Jesus said NO and told him to return to the town where he lived, to testify of what Jesus had done, to those who had known, rejected and shunned him.
Life After! Life Healed! Life with Jesus! I have been with JESUS!
