Silence

The strength of the man was exceedingly great Shown by the Silence, as He was led to his fate A death which by now, I’m sure you have heard And He went through the pain, without saying a Word A King, yet humbled to the point of disgrace They mocked Him, and beat Him, and spit in His face He knew, with eyes covered, the ones to be blamed for the punches He took, yet He took them in Shame In a Majestically Royal robe, He was dressed A crown of thorns, on His head was pressed He was struck on the head, many times with a staff The Soldiers fell to their knees, they worshipped and laughed He was whipped with a strap, which had hooks on the end So His flesh ripped open, again, and again In His Silence, His strength shone through like a Light His body was screaming, yet His mouth was quiet Convicted in innocence, to a Cross He was nailed Even unto His death, His strength never failed He withstood His affliction, in peace till the end And His Words, when He spoke were, “Father, forgive them” When we go through our Trials, we can learn from this man Silence, often speaks louder than any word can We can walk in God’s peace, when life becomes hard So take up your Cross, and follow the LORD. *****
