You are the lifter of my head When I let sorrow’s heartaches get the best of me You are the lasting light that lifts me upward to see You are the loving grace that restores and sets me free When I don’t see You carry me After all that I have known About the loving kindness you have always shown Your grace sufficiently supplies all I need to grow You strengthen my own spiritual legs to lead me home When I don’t see You carry me When I am lost and all alone When I am afraid and trapped within this raging storm Your everlasting love will keep me safely warm Your faithfulness provides the path I walk along When I don’t see You carry me When I am on a mountain climb It’s hard to see You beyond this mountain base Looking up from here to there I try to see Your face Knowing You alone have led me to this threatening place When I don’t see You carry me When I am following You blind The journey is a lifelong one and I am oh so small I start to lose my foothold and then I start to fall You are there to catch me because You never let me go When I don’t see You carry me
